 Girlfriends Care is dedicated to filling the basic needs of women and children and others in crisis in San Diego County by connecting volunteers with meaningful outreach projects. By providing food, clothing, training, job search assistance, encouragement and love, we actively support and promote self-sufficiency and spiritual well-being. Our Inspiration - Matthew 25:35-36 “For I was hungry, and you gave me something to eat; I was thirsty, and you gave me something to drink; I was a stranger, and you invited me in; naked, and you clothed me; I was sick, and you took care of me; I was in prison, and you came to visit me.”
On July 25th , 2009 Girlfriends Care threw a picnic at Dixon Lake for the women and children of the St. Clare's Home. We ate hamburgers and hotdogs and homemade macaroni and cheese, potato salad, salad and cookies and brownies and lots more. St. Clare's Home would like to put out a special thanks to Indra, Rita E., Rita G., Diane, Ellen, Lisa, Linda and Laurie and their families for putting on one of the most entertaining picnics of all time.  We played Limbo and went on hikes and a special thanks to Claudia Hirt from CJ’s Party Productions for the wonderful face painting and caricatures.
